Tips on How to Clean Your Scrap Copper Pipe

Posted: January 3, 2023

Our customers are always looking for more ways to make money, and we always try to show them how to do so. Today I want to tell you a little bit about sorting and separating your different types of copper pipe.

Obviously you want to make more money with your scrap, so sorting your #1 copper tubing from your #2 copper tubing is a great way to do it.

We like to say that #2 copper tubing is anything that has paint, solder, gunk inside, extremely tarnished, or just really dirty.

Clean copper pipe will be from new cutoffs of copper, used copper pipes that were for air, gases, water, or a few other applications.

By buying a sawzal or a good pair of metal cutters, you will be able to sort your clean pipe from your dirty pipe, and that will make it considerably easier to  get all of your material ready to sell to Rockaway Recycling for more cash.

Here is a YouTube video on sorting and separating:

Hope this helps you out this week, scrap ya later!
