When you are scrapping air conditioners or radiators, you may come across Aluminum/Copper Coils or ACR’s. They will have copper tubing running throughout the aluminum fin with steel brackets along the side. You can cut the Aluminum/Copper Coil ends off to make more money on them. When the steel brackets are removed, they are called clean Aluminum/Copper Coils and can get you more money at the scale compared to dirty coils or ones that still have the steel attached. Remember when taking apart Aluminum/Copper Coils you should be sure that the freon has been removed by a licensed HVAC contractor. Rockaway Recycling does not accept Aluminum/Copper Coils clean or dirty if the freon has not been removed.
