Scrap Metal Everywhere!!!

Posted: March 11, 2013

Often times I look around at the scrap metal that comes in and out of our scrap yard, and I always wonder what the story was about each piece, who used it, where it was, what it was used for. All of these questions are interesting…but the most interesting question to me is how can we get more and make more of a difference.

Scrap metal comes from everywhere, and a good analogy would be looking at garbage in a home. Every house has garbage created everyday from food waste to junk mail. The same concept applies to scrap metal and commercial jobs. Each job site has the materials (the food) that they need, but there is always “scraps,” (pun on the word…haha) that are created, and that is where we come in.

At Rockaway Recycling we are able to recycle, sort, and process the scrap metal the best way possible, and ship it to more downstream vendors who will take it and scrap it out. When we look at the piles of mixed scrap metals that come in, we look for a way to separate them and help our customers make more money on their metal.

With our Scrap Metal Pictures page, we have taken the materials that we buy, we show you pictures, and we make sure that you are able to know what type of other materials that we buy.
