COVID-19 & Our Response

Here at Rockaway Recycling our Team’s safety and the safety of our customers is our #1 Priority and Concern. With the recent news of COVID-19 and the precautions that the Federal and Local Governments are taking, we are making some of our own.
All of our employees are required to wear rubber gloves underneath their work gloves at all times when handling material and working. This includes our drivers wearing them while driving and we are enforcing increased hand-washing of our entire team.
We are also taking the initiative of disinfecting all surfaces including:
- Scale Indicators
- Signature pads
- ATM buttons and screens
- Plastic containers
- Other commonly touched surfaces.
We will also be providing hand wipes for customers and our team at all times.
New Hours This Week:
Tuesday, 3/17 – 7am – 4:30pm
Wednesday, 3/18 – 7am – 4:30pm
Thursday, 3/19 – 7am – 4:30pm (No Late Night)
Friday, 3/20 – 7am – 4:30pm
Saturday Hours to be determined during the week.
Our team has been instructed to keep a 6-foot distance at all times as well as request that customers that may be sneezing or coughing to keep their distance.
We will continue to share updates and new procedures we are putting in place as we adjust and respond to this situation.
