Scrap Metal Charity- Rockaway Recycling

Posted: June 21, 2013

As a kid I remember my parents taking me to multiple events and volunteering our time. Whether it was the Special Olympics, fingerprinting, or town clean ups we were always out participating in the community.

When I took over Rockaway Recycling in 2007, I knew that I wanted to start giving back to the community just like my parents taught me to do. With our Customer Appreciation Day BBQ’s, not only are we able to thank our customers for making us the scrap yard that they go to, but we have changed it into an event that helps to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

This year we got some of our community involved and we teamed up with over half a dozen companies to raise money for the kids at St. Jude’s as well. With our new event called, “Rock For Kids,” we will not only be donating $1 for every item that our customers eat or drink at our BBQ, but we will also be bringing in the community even more.

While we are known for our Scrap Metal Prices always being up to date through our website, we want to be known as a company that is always involved, always supporting our local towns and municipalities through little league donations, Boy/Girl Scouts fundraising, and more.

At Rockaway Recycling we are redefining recycling, one scrap at a time.
