Scrap Copper Market 2013
Posted: November 15, 2013
With the price of scrap copper always a hot topic, we want to share some of our thoughts on where the market is going.
8-10 years ago, and further back then that, the market had a very consistent curve. You were able to see when the prices would increase and decrease based on a seasonal thing. Some people would gamble, some would just sell and take their profits.

Nowadays the copper market does not do that at all. Take 2013 for instance. From the high point in mid February and early March to today, the copper prices have fallen 16%. In the past this may have been on a level basis, but nowadays with traders on Wall Street and overseas controlling many of the commodity prices, it is difficult to gage what is going to happen next.
