September 11th Thoughts

Posted: September 11, 2013

Going to work, going on vacation, going to sleep. All things that many of us think about and take for granted all too often. Many of us remember that day, the minute, the second when we found out what had happened. We remember our immediate thoughts, our reactions, our disbelief.

On that day nothing else mattered except to pray and hope that we would be able to figure out what happened and how we could make any sense of it. The lives that were lost, the families that were affected, all of these things would help to shape our lives and change the way that so many things are done.

That day I know that I prayed for the families, none of which I knew, but that were so close to my heart as if I did know them. This will be a day that will define who we are as Americans, and make sure that we always remember and never forget those who fell that day.

Today is a time to put politics aside, to think to ourselves how lucky that we are, and how life is so precious.
