Gold CPU vs Silver CPU

Posted: July 12, 2013

So I had a customer send me an email asking to explain the difference between CPU Chips and difference in Memory Chips.

With the large price ranges that we have on our website for cpu chip recycling and memory chip recycling we know that it makes it a little difficult to figure out what is what.

Gold vs. Silver…the eternal battle.

From Christmas movies to coins, gold and silver have always been talked about. When it comes to scrap computer memory it is the same debate…gold is always the winner.

Memory is an item that it pays to separate the gold vs. silver memory that you are getting in so you will be able to always make more money with it.

Now CPU’s…another beast. Most of the CPU chips made now a days are containing little amounts of gold and a lot of copper and plastic. The best CPU Chips that you can get are ceramic ones, but even they are different. There are ceramic chips that have copper attached (lower price) and there are ones that have gold on one side (middle price) and the best are gold plates on both sides and gold pins sticking out.

Send us some questions through our Contact Us Page and we will get the Prices to you on whatever material it is that you have.
