Catalytic Converters for Scrap

Posted: April 30, 2014

Catalytic converters were created to reduce the air pollution from emissions given off by vehicles, but they have begun to create a new kind of pollution by piling up in garbage piles. Catalytic converters from vehicles can be scrapped for cash. Who wouldn’t want to get money for something they can’t use?

Catalytic converters (CAT’s) can range anywhere from $5-$200 depending on the year, make and model of the vehicle it is from. But what makes them so valuable? Inside of the cats there are precious metals including platinum, rhodium, palladium and copper.

By recycling catalytic converters you will be reducing the amount of recyclable materials at landfills and making money from them, a win-win. You can bring your catalytic converters here when you have properly prepared them. We will accept a catalytic converter from every vehicle. You should cut off both ends but do not take out the “honeycomb” from the inside. This helps us know what year, make and model the cat came from. You can find a how-to guide on how to prepare your cats here.
